As captured in a Reddit post by user DragonDDark, composer Gustavo Santaolalla recently held a concert at which he played music from both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II. When mentioning Part II, Santaolalla teased that the sequel is coming “very soon.” Now, “very soon” is relative and doesn’t give us anything concrete, but we hope Santaolalla is reasonable enough not to promise a “very soon” release date that’s any further out than late 2019. A 2019 release would also align with the composer’s previous launch tease. 2019 is looking increasingly more like a solid bet. In addition to Santaolalla’s multiple assurances, a recent leak on PlayStation Music’s official YouTube channel had the game slated for a 2019 release as well. Source: Gamerant
