PS Plus Monthly Games: January 2025

PS Plus Monthly Games January 2025

Sony has announced its roster of games coming to all PS Plus members this January. These games will be available to download from January 7th and will stay in your library for as long as you remain part of PS Plus.

PS Plus’s January Games

  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (PS5)

  • Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered (PS4)

  • The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe (PS4 & PS5)

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was dealt a major blow when it came out last year. It was a long time in the making, and people were excited about Rocksteady’s next creation, the geniuses behind the Batman: Arkham series. Unfortunately, Suicide Squad received mixed critical reception and a negative fan response, especially from Arkham fans. The game is considered inferior to Arkham, and many fans thought it was disrespectful. Set in the Arkham universe, fans have noted severe plot holes that did not line up with the events of the trilogy. The live service aspect was deemed unnecessary, and the game is receiving its final update this month.

Nevertheless, the game is available to PS Plus members this month. I am a huge fan of the Arkham games, and regardless of the negative reception, I am going to give the game a shot. I am aware of the unfavourable reviews, but I am still going to try it.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit first came out in 2010. It was critically acclaimed at the time, especially the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The game itself is a revival/reboot of Need for Speed III, which came out in 1998 for PC and the PS1. It was the first Need for Speed game to feature Autolog, a feature where the game would recommend events and races to take part in based on your stats. Autolog is featured heavily in the online aspect of the game, where players can upload photos and comments of their performances within the game.

I fondly remember playing Need for Speed at arcades as a kid. However, I have never played Hot Pursuit, which is one of the most celebrated games in the series. I am keen to try it, in any case.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe

Anyone who has played The Stanley Parable is already aware of how fantastic it is. Anyone who has never played it or knows nothing about it should not look at any trailer, gameplay, or story elements of the game. It was one of the most unique, comedic, and entertaining walking simulator games ever made. I will not say anymore because I do not want to risk spoiling the game for anyone.

If you have PS Plus, you should play The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe; you will not regret it.
