The Logitech Orb Mic is a bit of a hidden gem in the world of streaming microphones. Perfect for budding streamers or anyone seeking an audio upgrade over traditional headset microphones making it a value add for just about any setup.
One of the first things that will catch your eye about the Orb Mic is its elegant and minimalist design. Its compact spherical shape it's not just aesthetically pleasing, but functional too, taking up minimal space on your desktop. The build quality however is where it surprised me, for something in this price range you usually expect a slightly lower build quality. The Logitech Yeti Orb however is the single most solid mic we've tested. I feel like I could drop this thing off a skyscraper and it would be just fine.
Despite its small size and price point, this mic delivers clean, crisp audio, capturing all the nuances in your voice every single time. The cardioid pickup pattern makes sure your voice is picked up without picking up too much background noise with it. This pickup pattern is particularly beneficial for streamers and anyone using it to replace their headset microphones. I wouldn't recommend a microphone with a sole cardioid pattern if you're planning on having multiple voices from multiple directions i.e. podcasters etc.
I've used this a fair bit over the past few months and am frequently told how good it sounds by my fellow gamers in comparison to my headset audio.
For its price point, the Logitech Yeti Orb mic delivers surprisingly rich and detailed sound. Whether you're looking to upgrade your voice chat or a streamer looking to add professional grade voice audio, this mic provides very natural sounding results. The 360-degree coverage ensures your voice is captured consistently.
Setting up the Logitech Orb Mic is a breeze. With a simple plug-and-play USB connection, it's compatible with most devices, eliminating the need for complex installations or additional drivers.
As I've mentioned throughout the review, the Logitech Yeti Orb Mic is a very good value proposition. It far exceeds what I'd expect from a mic in its price point. It's every bit as capable as a lot of $200 microphones on the market. I'd particularly recommend it for anyone starting out with streaming or content creation as it's relatively inexpensive without compromising on quality. If you want absolute high end quality however there are definitely better mics out there, but expect to pay for it.
Overall, the small but mighty Logitech Yeti Orb mic is a hard hitting contender. If you want good quality at a low price point, there aren't many better. Whether you're upgrading your in game voice chat or wanting to dabble in streaming or content creation then this is a perfect starting point. Do yourself a favour and check it out.
