Last of Us Movie cancelled! – Don’t worry, an HBO series is coming.

While ‘The Last of Us’ sequel is waiting to hit the shelves on May 29th, people were excited for the movie adaptation as well. While Sam Raimi was supposed to helm the direction with Neil Druckmann, the creative director of Naughty Dog co-producing it, now the movie is said to have been shelved to make way for a series based on the same IP with HBO.

The Last of Us TV series is under construction works with writers/executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. If this project materializes, The Last of Us will be the first television series from PlayStation Productions. Though we don’t have any more information about the series or about the ex-movie, we can hope that this would make fans more excited for Joel and Ellie in Last of Us 2.
