Gaming News + Releases From The First Half Of December 2023

What a wild few weeks its been in the gaming world! In case you needed to catch up, or just needed a refresher on just some of the gaming news that's been going on, here's what's happened in the first half of December 2023;

The Day Before Studio Shuts Down Days After Disasterous Release

Probably the most talked about news latley, Fntastic Studios has announced it's studios closure. In a statement, Fntastic goes on to say that "The Day Before has failed financially, and we lack the funds to continue". They also claim that they "Didn't take any money from the public", and say that the servers will remain operational for the time being. The game is no longer available on steam, and all videos have been deleted from their YouTube. After multiple delays, lies and more lies about what the game actually was, it's not too surprising that player's weren't happy with it.

ICYMI - The Game Awards Nominees, Winners And Announcements

Look, you probably know by now that Baldur's Gate 3 swept TGA, and coined GOTY for 2023, but again in case you missed it or just needed a refresher, here's all the winners across all categories, plus all the announcements.

Hideo Kojima Partners With A24 For A Live Action Death Stranding Film

You could argue that Death Stranding doesn't need a live action film, considering how cinematic the 40+ hour (main story) game is already. With that in mind though, with Kojima Productions partnering up with A24, this will definitely attract a new crowd of non-gamers into the world of Death Stranding, in a much more shorter experience. How short the film will be though is debatable at this point, but if any studio were to take on this title, A24 seems like the perfect match for it.

Logitech G Launches The Astro A50X Headset

Recently announced from Logitech earlier this month, their new flagship console wireless gaming headset THE ASTRO A50X, is looking to be one of the best gaming headsets in 2024. With enhanced features including PLAYSYNC technology, a Pro-G Graphene Audio Driver, and with a 24-bit Lightspeed Wireless connection promising pro-grade performance, this is definitely a headset to keep your eye on if you're looking to enhance your gaming experience. We'll be sure to let you know what we think of it once we get our hands on it sometime in early 2024.

Insomniac Releases Statement Addressing Awaited Features For Spider-Man 2

Insomniac has announced that some features, including New Game+ and Audio Descriptions, has been pushed back to early 2024. Closer to the games next update will include a feature-complete list, and will also be adding the ability to replay missions, changing the time of day, and even swapping tendril colours! In the meantime though (if you haven't already) nabbing that platinum trophy will keep you busy a little longer.

While it is a shame to hear of this news, especially for those who loved factions, it is refreshing to hear their reasonsing behind it.
