The FIFA games have been around since 1993, originally debuting on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. Since then, they've not only released FIFA as the regular soccer (football) we know and love, but also released a few FIFA Street titles and even World Cup titles. For almost 3 decades now, EA have released a game every single year, so it's no surprise it's been also listed in the Guinness World Records as the best selling sports video game franchise in the world. (Oh, and not to mention how awesome the soundtracks usually have been). In saying that, the franchise has had it's share of negativity including being in the centre of microtransaction debacles.
Earlier in 2022, it was announced that EA and FIFA would part ways after 30 years together. This means the series from 2023 onwards will now be retitled as 'EA SPORTS FC'.
OH and how could I almost forget to mention - Ted Lasso will officially be in FIFA 23! Check it out via EA Sports YouTube Channel
