All Apple enthusiasts are now gathering in excitement. Today, Apple revealed its latest offerings: iPhones, Apple Watches, AirPods, and Headphones. These products feature quality-of-life improvements from their previous models and are setting a new standard for AI as a personal tool to increase productivity. Apple is utilising AI in its products, and consumers will be better off using it.
These are the latest products announced by Apple:
APPLE AIRPODS 4 & AIRPODS MAX:
The latest AirPods aim to give customers the best possible audio experience Apple has ever done. AirPods 4 features a new design for better comfort and a new force sensor at the tip of each bud, making navigating media playback and phone calls effortless. In addition, the case is now smaller than previous models but can still deliver up to 30 hours of battery life when the buds are not in use.
AirPods 4 are available in two forms: the standard AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. These AirPods mark the first time Apple has added ANC to earphones with an open-ear design. AirPods 4 with ANC utilises the H2 chip and advanced computational audio to reduce environmental noise massively. The earphones also feature a Transparency mode that keeps wearers alert of their surroundings, an Adaptive Audio mode that blends the two prior modes based on your location, and a Conversation Awareness mode, automatically lowering media volume when you engage in conversation.
Apple also announced five new colours for their AirPods Max headphones: Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Orange and Purple.
APPLE WATCH SERIES 10 & ULTRA 2:
Apple Watches have grown since their first launch, and the newest Series 10 and Ultra 2 models promise to deliver the definitive smartwatch experience.
The Series 10, available in aluminium and titanium in a variety of colours and finishes, is 10% thinner than its predecessors. Despite its slim profile, it boasts a large OLED display and advanced capabilities, all while maintaining an all-day 18-hour battery life. The new S10 SiP (System in Package) enables faster performance and enhanced technical capabilities, thanks to watchOS 11. The latest metal back design allows for a larger, more efficient charging coil, with just 15 minutes of charging providing around eight hours of battery life, and 30 minutes of charging restoring 80% of the battery.
For a true showcase of what a smartwatch is capable of, we must look at the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Apple's new watchOS 11 allows users to better track their fitness goals with overnight health metrics and how their workouts impact their bodies over time. On top of this, Ultra 2 features optimised workouts for runners, cyclists, swimmers, hikers and more, as well as a brand new workout app that features improved GPS and customisable activity rings. The watch features the brightest display Apple has ever fitted to one of its products at 3000 nits.
Apple also announced Hermès Ultra 2, a first-of-its-kind smartwatch with a natural titanium case, exclusive band, face, and titanium buckle. The watch has all the classiness of a Rolex or Omega combined with the modern sophistication of a modern wristwatch.
APPLE IPHONE 16 & IPHONE 16 PLUS:
Apple has been the frontrunner in the smartphone industry since the first iPhone in 2007. Now, with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, the company is improving itself and the experience for creators.
For creatives, the new camera is the most notable feature of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The 48MP Fusion camera features two different-quality telephoto lens options, allowing users to create much wider images without sacrificing quality. In addition to the telephoto lens features, the 12MP Ultra Wide option features autofocus and enables macro photography, allowing 2.6x more light and better-quality images.
The A18 chip in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is a game-changer, quite literally. With the chip running ML models 2x faster, a 6-core CPU that's 30% quicker, and a 5-core GPU that's 40% more efficient than the A16 Bionic chip, the gaming experience is set to reach new heights. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing on games and 5x higher frame rates, coupled with Game Mode for iOS 18, promise a more immersive and exhilarating gaming experience.
APPLE IPHONE 16 PRO & PRO MAX:
Perhaps Apple's most grandiose reveal was the announcement of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone Pro Max. These are much more expensive and elitist than the previously mentioned products. However, if you warrant the price of these devices, you will be amazed at what these two devices are capable of, not only as a mobile phone but also as an AI tool.
Apple Intelligence is the built-in software that comes with this year's new iPhones and acts as a personal intelligence system that helps boost productivity and activity across your device. Here are a few short examples of what the system is capable of doing:
Writing Tools: Apple Intelligence can assist as a writing tool for emails, text messages, or notes to help better convey the meaning of your writing whilst also keeping grammar, sentence structure and word choices in order. Notes and phone calls can now be recorded and transcribed for you, and you have the ability to summarise a phone call you have a note you have written.
Notifications: You can now categorise text messages and emails. Apple Intelligence helps you prioritise these notifications and gives you a short summary of the contents of the email or text messages. This big time management boost will make you aware of what is urgent in your inbox.
Siri: Siri is utilised in conjunction with Apple Intelligence. Its design is brand-new, with the perimeter of the screen glowing when Siri is in use. If you ask Siri about a particular topic and mispronounce or stumble on a word, Siri will analyse the context of your message and follow through with your request accurately. Additionally, you can switch between text and vocal requests and use Siri's extensive knowledge of the new devices for better navigation.
Emoji: Everybody knows what emojis are, and most people in the modern world use emojis to convey an emotion, object or situation they are in. Well, now, emojis have become much more personalised. You can now type a description of something, and Apple Intelligence will generate an emoji. Additionally, you can create emojis of yourself, friends and family by simply uploading an image, and Apple Intelligence will develop a unique emoji for you.
iOS 18: When iOS 18 is installed on your iPhone and you are using Siri or Writing Tools, you will be able to access third-party software like ChatGPT that can help you better integrate your creativity and writing endeavours.
Camera Control: A brand new tactile switch on the side of the device allows you to open the Camera function quickly. The new camera preview helps frame a photograph and assists with zoom, exposure and depth of field. You can do all of this with a tap of the side button. With this model's five different Telephoto camera options, you can shoot video at 4K up to 120fps, accompanied with Dolby Vision audio. Camera Control captures memorable images and works in tandem with Google. One example of this helpful feature is taking a picture of a restaurant you see in passing, and Google will be able to identify the place and upload reviews and ratings for the location.
Apple's newest products offer an impressive glimpse into the future of personalised technology. Their current use of AI is unparalleled, making the software act as a personal assistant rather than a program that exiles the consumer. The truth of each device's potential will be made public when they launch on Friday, September 20th.
